It's better to be organized

Being organized saves you money!  Sometimes a lot of money.
I'm so frustrated with myself.  I wrote awhile back that I was just feeling back to normal.  I spoke about feeling like I was in a forest...in survival mode.  While in the mode my normal organizational bones were...broke.  They were there but not functioning 100%.  I would just file away or put away for a later date.  Well, I'm back now but I felt my survival mode bit me today:(  During those days I didn't
file for a very hefty exemption and now...Well, now I get to pay full price taxes for our lovely home.
In all the 16 years of being a home owner I've never done this.
This is what not being organized gets you!
So, TODAY I will go and pay my taxes and file for my homestead...a year late!

I love to be organized.  I really love the thought of being organized.
I do have it in me and yet it seems I go on an organizational roller coaster now and then.
This bothers me very much.
My biggest problem that keeps me from reaching my organizational goals is
RUSHING!
I enjoy a clean house and cleared counter tops trump organized papers in a rush:(
Always has and always will.
Maybe it's the fact that I truly need more hours in my day.
Since this is not going to happen I must find a solution that is
EASY-WORKS-and one that will LAST!
I have things in play...I'm not a lost cause and I'm not totally disorganized...just not where I want to be!  I have the clean house thing down...usually:)
So, I have a mission.....to be a 'nut' this year.

**Right out of the gate I know the first problem most people face in the beginning is
that this paper mess is too big to tackle. This can make anyone just put their blinders on.
FACT - If you continue down this path you will never reach your organizational goal.
SOLUTION - Baby steps (everything always starts this way)

**Another problem I have identified in myself is the "blame game".  I have really good reason for this too:)
If only I had help with....OR If didn't have to do this I could spend more time doing this...
This is my blame game.
FACT - This is not helpful to my mission.
SOLUTION - Identify self as lone ranger and possibly will enlist help but understand that this is long shot.

I will work on these and let you know how it goes.
Some goals I want to achieve in the next month.

*Change monthly/billing folder file into a binder system.
*Take out 2010 papers from filing system, box up and store away.
*Gather all school papers and organize.
*Create school filing system for daily/weekly/and quarterly papers/grades
The kids have a 2 week break where they will be off or just doing catch up work...perfect time for me to get some of these done.

Unwind.....try to organize one thing today.  Even if it's your bathroom rack!  Enjoy your life!

NOTE: I came back from the tax office a bit happier than before because they have a form to help the disorganized:) I can file a late home stead form and get a refund:) So, it's not all bad!
