Who's that kid?
At the football field my ears are always open. I heard this the first night of football prac.
>"Wow, who's THAT kid?"
-"Oh- that's Levi `last name`...Man he's AWESOME!"-
>"And BIG!"
-"yeah, he's real good...I mean really good! I'm glad he's back w/us"-
Another conversation from a different team on a totally different part of the city...about 45 minutes away (my friend told me this one).
>"well, the Wildcats are our biggest rivals...and they have this one kid."
-"Are you talking about the QB?"-
>"I think his name's Levi. Man he's a tough one-super hard to play against"
-" I heard that QB hits like no tomorrow and has a cannon for an arm."-
(my friend steps in the conversation)
"Hey, I think I know that kid you're talking about and if it's the same boy I think he moved to a different division."
With this comment she said the parents look relieved:)
I find these types of conversations funny. I hear them off and on through out the year...mostly during the football season. People will start talking about my son to me without knowing I'm "Momma". I don't tell Levi about most of it because I want him to stay grounded. I worry at times that he's got so many eyes watching his God given talent that people won't be so kind when he doesn't perform to his greatest potential.
Another thing that hangs in the back of my head is this.
--Will I have to put him in school to play in MS or HS?--
--Is the Feast homeschool football team his best option all the way around?--
For now...I'm enjoying watching him play and watching my youngest learn how to cheer. For now God has not given me a clear direction. So, I wait and pray.
