Texas Summer fun
* Create a fun, busy, non-boring summer for my kids *
Rules:
* Inexpensive activities that were fun for ages 15 to 7
* Must finish and complete household chores before activities are engaged
* Must get all workouts completed for mother and kids
* No complaining and all focus is to God and all he has given us~
I want my kids to soak up what is in front of them:)
We have many discussions on the "now" and remembering. Just yesterday, we were stopped for a bit on the road b/c a huge semi's brake lines had blown and they were taking it very slowly to the gas station... walking and pouring water on the brakes as they walked...what was semi carrying? The body of a HUGE Air force Cargo plane. No wings or anything. It was neat...I made sure I pointed out that you don't see that everyday and how cool it was. I could easily just zoom by or grumble b/c I was slowed down. I could also just not say anything but to me everyday and every situation is a God given opportunity for us as parents to make some kind of impact on our kids. I want to raise my kids to enjoy everything about life...I want them to understand that God puts us where we are for a purpose and it is our responsibility to be Jesus where ever we are.
OK...sorry...now back to Summer fun in TEXAS!
We are only 2 or 3 weeks into to summer and I'm so excited about the fun
we've had so far and are going to have:)
To date we have: tubed the Comal river twice (same day) =$0 and had a picnic there,
gone on a shopping spree to the outlet malls = $>, played laser tag = $50ish,
jumped off the cliffs at Inks Lake = $60 (only b/c we bought a year pass to all state parks),
rode all the rides at Six Flags = $450
(Season passes-this is our most expensive activity but we will use it a lot)

and are waiting for the water park to open during the week,
swung off the tree ropes in Wimberly = $5,
Kainah has gone on a youth group camping trip (had a FAB time) = $35,
Hannah is away now (total 10 days) to Church camp helping there =$0,
and this weekend we're heading up to the coast to stay with some friends for a couple days:)
This week started the start of a 10 week speed class program that the three older kids will be doing this summer and when Hannah is gone Rebekah is able to take her spot which makes a happy Bekah.
Of course, each Monday night Levi goes to Sonny Detmar for QB training, as well.
PLANS FOR THE REST FOR THE SUMMER?
well, I've got them.
I plan to take the kids to the water park at least 2x's week after speed class.
Next weekend all the kids are going on a camping trip with my dad and Paula!
This is something they have never done before together:)
While they are all gone.....
Mom and dad will be working hard:)
We are planning to build a LOFT in Kainah and Rebekah's room!
After that we will continue with Speed, Six Flags Water park, and Sonny's QB training for just under 2 weeks (resting and cleaning on Tuesdays and Thursdays) until our big vacation.
Our BIG Family vacation is to Sedona, AZ!!!!
We are all very excited about this. Visiting the Grand Canyon is something I've never done and something we've talked about doing for a long time:)

We will have a nice long trip, taking our time to make it back home. Not long once we get home, the kids will start back at school a couple days a week. Rebekah's birthday is in August and we our planning a nice party here at the house. It will either be one of 2 choices.
Choice #1 ~ A big inflatable waterside
or
Choice #2 ~ A pool party ......
We looking into to getting a pool, so if we do then this will be the choice, lol!
I have many other thing up my sleeve for this summer...even once we start school.
I would like to walk through the King WIlliams district and then go downtown for
a cool dessert, I'd like to take Grandma to the Riverwalk where the Fish are hanging from the bridge.
We also have plans to go away to Canyon Lake and stay at an AWESOME cabin that overlooks the lake with some friends. The plan is to rent a boat and play the whole weekend!
That will end our summer fun trips I think.
Look for pics on my other blog www.pictureperfectbliss.blogspot.com
I'll post some here too.
Unwind time...You have just one life to live. So LIVE! Don't waste your life away by grumpiness, or wishing for more. Don't waste it by rudeness or depression. LIVE your life better each day! BE BETTER each day. Just as someone can not control your thoughts and emotions...you can not control someone and/or what they do. If you want or need to see change pray, talk, seek council....BUT remember...you need to live YOUR LIFE! Go out there and LIVE....
live right and enjoy the life God has planned for you!!!
