Where does your strength come from?

While watching my Kainah play Volleyball this weekend,
another mom from the team told me something funny.
She said Kainah was like a Jekyll and Hyde character.
She said, when you talk to Kainah off the court you get this
super sweet and very respectful young lady but then you watch her
play on the court and she's so strong, passionate, and forceful as a hitter and blocker.
She said you wouldn't think such a dominant strong player could be
so different off the court.

It's true.

If you saw her on the court while playing her best....
you might not think she is who she is.

She's not ugly on the court but she can be
Driven!
 (thats what we call it)

Here at our house we talk about giving your all.
Motivating others to be better.
Honoring God.
Bringing honor to your family.
Loving others no matter what.
Respecting others as God's children.
Being strong spiritually, mentally, and physically. (strengthX3)
Never giving up.
Dreaming big and knowing that God can do all things.

I believe this is a major reason behind my kids dominant play yet
kind hearted spirits.

I started this post with a beautiful song from Kari Jobe.
It displays what we teach our kids.
They have this deep inside their hearts which is why they don't
stumble in the face of the worlds temptations.

It speaks of how God is so
Faithful
Constant
Loving
True
Patient
Gracious
Merciful
and
Powerful in all He does
How God fills us
How He sees us and knows our every move.
How He is for us
How He will never forsake us even in our weaknesses.

I'm happy to know all 4 of my kids are strong in their foundation in Christ.
I pray they continue to do this.

So, to all you Christian athletes go out there and be strong, be dominant, and win the day.
Remember that your strengthX3 comes from God.

To my kids...I thank God for you each by name...
