What's your constant?

For the last 14ish years, I have spent a great number of hours
on a field or at a court.
From T-ball to soccer or track to basketball and volleyball....many hours
and plenty of dollars have been spent on sports.

In the early years it was a bit easier...one practice and one game a week per child.

But the better and older they get...the more time and money goes.
Oh, I'm not complaining.

Quite the opposite!

I love watching my kids do their thing.
It's one of my joys in  life.
When they get old enough to drive themselves to practice I have mixed feelings.
One side of me is relieved that I can stay home but another side of me
misses watching them practice and improve their skill.

Sports have taken us to the Carolina's, Philadelphia, LasVegas, Atlanta,
Dallas, Houston, Florida, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Louisiana and more.
For the summer of 2014 to the summer of 2015 we will have travel
about 30,000 miles for our kids sports or leadership events in 12 months.
THAT'S A LOT!

The fact that my main job is Homemaker is how it all works.
I'm so grateful to God that I have a like minded husband and that
he has a great job that has given me the opportunity to stay home.
I love that Todd never has complained because he knows the importance.

Todd told me something recently that has stuck with me.
While asking him about how work was,
he usually likes to just leave work at work,
he said how "home" is his constant.
I love that.
Our home is stable and constant.
You can count on our family to be "a Williams" everyday.
To laugh and tease.
To love and hug.
To argue and stand firm.
To be a shoulder and a hand.
To not always be perfect but to always try hard.
To stick together and get each others back.
To welcome friends and feed tummies.
To pray for needs and to praise for everything.

We are constantly who we are.
We don't change with the wind nor do we change because with different
people or behind closed doors.
If you know us from school or church, neighbors or sports...you know us.
We're just real people through and through.
You can't say that about a lot of people these days.

UNWIND:
I find my "unwind" today knowing that we are a constant in my husband's
hectic day...and a constant to those that come to our home needing
to have non-changing people to count on:)
