Tim Tebow in the making
Football
It's in our blood.
WE love it!
Maybe it's the sport...maybe it's because the Lord blessed us with a son
that is so incredibly talented, maybe both whatever it is we love the game.
I have always been bombarded with questions about what I'm planning to
do with Levi. He seems young for me to say "always been"...right?
But at a VERY young age it was clear this was a God given talent.
One that he worked hard at...one that he trains for...one that he respects and uses
but one that is clearly above the rest a God given talent.
Homeschool kid from Texas, loves Jesus, has an arm, plows through people to get the TD...
Yeah...He made a statement.
When he saw Tim Tebow and found out that he was a lot like him it just
made his drive to be better that much more.
Levi doesn't have the same opportunities to Homeschool and
play high school football like Tim did.
If he did we'd be all over that.
So, we are looking at what to do with him.
We currently live in a small community and live in a 3A school district
which isn't going to give Levi the competition he needs to stay at the level he wants to better himself.
Todd and Levi went to a 5A school the other day and watched a football practice.
The coaches all came up and spoke to them,
even commented on how they had heard how good of a QB levi was.
All the players came up to talk to Levi.
The QB stayed and hung out with Levi for about 45 minutes.
We have been thinking that we might need to relocate to get him into a good school
and good football program. Especially if its with a good group of coaches.
Levi is still going to train with Sonny Detmar in the spring and summer,
and once he is old enough will start doing spec camps.
We are not going to let him play with the organization he played with this season
due to parental and coaching conflicts.
When Levi is hot and winning they want him out...
when he's playing safe and not intense (like we tell him NOT to play)
they are fine with him in as long as their not winning.
If they are up by a bunch and he is in but helping other kids that never get a TD in for a TD
they question Todd's integrity.
This is NO way to be...
And since no one stood up and addressed this
we stood up and said enough is enough!!!
This will not be what we are about.
So, That's the short end of the long story of why we are now looking for a different team for the fall:)
Now that's off my chest, lol.
The real reason I started this was because I can't believe how at peace-ish I feel
about Levi possibly going to High School. I have 3.5 years until that happens....really that isn't long.
AND...AND!!!!
He knows that for ANY...I mean ANY reason I see I need to jerk his little booger..
Ok ok...It might be a big booger...but still...
out because of attitude or grades or girls or attitude...I won't hesitate!
BUt I know he'll be fine:) I know he'll be great.
God has shown me that he leads soooo well on the field...
so how well do I think he will lead in the hallways.
I have 3.5 years....3.5 years of this homeschoolin' stuff to fit in his brain...
but really I have to trust Jesus in ALL things!!!
So I will....I really will. And I will enjoy and delight in trusting him in ALL things...
even in public high school....because 10 years ago I had to trust in Him to do this weird thing called...
Home school?
HA!
