Boy am I tired. I have been extremely busy. HA! I know surprise right:)
Well, let me update. This weekend we made some real progress on the house. I LOVE PROGRESS! I could have looked at this weekend as a lost battle but no way...let me explain. Our plan. My sweet love was to go hunting with his nephew from IN (who is visiting this week) and then we were going to start on the wood floors:) Sat. morning came and so did a gully washer. It rained and rained and rained and rained. The hunters came home early...and when my love looked in the house to make sure all was well he found a surprise:( 2 small leaks. These leaks have been haunting us. We're not sure exactly where they are we just know when we have plastic up they go away. So, The floors could not be put down until that was solved. Our solution....well...our final straw now is to just build a deck and roof it. We were planning on building one...just a little later. It will be good to have a deck to the side door when we have the wood floor down so people don't track sand on the the nice floor. So, instead of starting on the floor we figured out what was needed for the window trim and on Sunday, along with having a family dinner with people from out of town, we finished ALL the window trim (boy they look nice). My sweet love also got all the baseboards in the bathroom installed. We had the granite guy come out and measure. I just got his quote...it is almost $1000's more then what was originally thought. I'm currently trying to look around. I don't have allot of time in my day to look around but I'm trying.
Yesterday I took the kids and our special visitor to Enchanted rock. It is a State Park about 2 hrs away. It was fun. We got lots of exercise and adventure. After our adventure we went into Fredericksburgh for some lunch. Lunch was good but man was it pricey. After lunch I let the kids have some fun at the candy store...this is something I never do so I thought....Why not! Once I saw the deal on fudge:) I decided that everyone could pick their choice of fudge. Then I had to hurry home to get my son ready for his Football QB practice with Sonny Ditmar and to take our visitor back to his "mama's". I drove about 6 1/2 hrs yesterday. I bet no one in my family realizes that. I came home and had to handle soccer practice issues, birthday party invites, and a bit of a grumpy, tired hubby...all on an empty stomach. To top it off the new pup went #2 in our bedroom which sent my sweet love threw the roof:( I think all will be fine though. I just let him fall into sweet slumber b/c that is what he really needed. Not me fussing at him losing his temper. I would like to bless him today in some way. I have so much to do this week but maybe if I take a few hours to take care of a few things that have been neglected in the house (since I'm Mrs. construction lady and not Mrs. house keeper these days) and then maybe if I could get a coat of paint on the windows. Hummm....I just don't know how I can do that this week. I also am in charge of putting together a big Expo (open house of sorts) for our Co-op. I have to plan everything from dinner (easy-potluck), to displays, tables, chairs, trash, volunteers, performances, crowd control, end of the year what evers....I also have a loan guy and my sweet love on me about consolidating into 1 loan, cutting our mortgage time in half, and lowering the rate AND my refrigerator water has stopped working so I need to call the company about that and be on the phone to retell what is happening 100 times.
On Friday we have our big Expo night, sat. we have soccer games galore (meaning all 4 kids will be playing), and Sat. night we have a choir performance for our youngest that I have to help lead! This week is turning out to be one crazy week! Football last night, soccer tonight, speed/ Church Wed., Soccer Thur, Expo Friday, Church/ Choir Sat. I'm going to need prayers!!!! The big cherry on top...My love said he wanted to have a serious work week at the house this week and next. We have about 2 good work weeks to finish...we think.
I have always tried hard to keep things calm in the evenings but the older my kids get the harder it gets. I do believe I have crazier times in the year and right now is one of them...I think it is like that for most people at the end of the school year. Things all kind of come to an end. Soon my Wednesday nights will be mine again and so will my Friday's. Soccer only last for a couple months. After Soccer comes Summer camps and summer fun! Then comes....Football season. Football season is so fun but it takes allot of time. Last year Todd did allot of the practices as a coach which made it was easier on us all.
Well, I'm tired just thinking about all this, lol.
I do have an unwind though....
The beauty that God gives us comes in unexpected ways. You HAVE to be looking for Gods beauty or you might miss it. Enchanted Rock was exhausting but fun. It was great to see my kids push them selves in ways they hadn't before. God gave me a small breather that he knew I needed yesterday. I was told I needed to be at football prac. at 6 pm but when I confirmed they said 7pm. I was already on my way so I spent 30 minutes or so visiting w/my sweet loves family when I dropped off his nephew. It was nice to sit and visit with a cold glass of ice water. Sometimes I think if we don't try to find God's beauty. if we don't try to find an unwind somewhere...we lose our way..or we lose who we are. We just go through life. This life God granted us can be so much more than just...going through and getting by until the next day. Even through a ton of work....even through the busiest of times..even through times of unmeasurable responsibilities on your shoulders...find beauty...find life...Find God right where you are. I know he's there. He'll help you unwind.....
