The adventures of a not so ordinary homeschool family - 1
This is my attempt to write down some of the fun and fabulous
things we do, find, learn, encounter, and all those other great words:)
I will try to keep the same title but change the counter.

The story begins.....
A relaxing morning at home.
Morning read aloud and history had been completed.
Breakfast consumed. Teeth brushed (hopefully). Beds made.
The young man of the family had been waiting...
waiting for a special invite to come in the SNAIL-MAIL.
waiting for a special invite to come in the SNAIL-MAIL.
Two days before was Monday but alas it was a national holiday and
no mail was delivered.
It was now Wednesday and the normal "mail getters" had not
gotten the mail from the day before.
So, away he goes down the street with little sister and dog by his side.
Will he find what he was looking for?
I'll let you know at the end of the post.
As the children make their way down the street, their mother continues about her business.
Picking up , wiping off, and working with the older girls.
Mother did think that it was taking them a bit longer to reach the mailbox and return
but fret she did not.
Until....
Her phones rings.
It's her oldest. What was she doing calling her?
Wasn't she in her room or at the desk doing school?
The voice over the phone puts those thoughts to rest.
"Go outside and see what your son has brought home."
"What?" she ask.
Thoughts of all the things her adventurous son
has done and/or brought home start to fill her brain.
A little louder now, "Go outside! Go see what he brought home..."
Crackle of the signal starts to interrupt the conversation.
"He carried it ALL THE WAY DOWN THE STREET!"
"What is it?" she pulled herself to ask.
"Just go see!"
As the curious mother went to the front door, her fears of a giant turtle,
snake, ducklings, lost dog, or some other wild creature flooded her mind.
She had seen ALL these things before - "rescued" by her son.
She only saw a very large box.
She yelled for her son.
"Yes!" a muffled voice answers back.
"What are you DOING?!!"
"MOM, look what I found! Isn't it awesome?" he says trying to win his mother over.
Knowing she must step lightly so not to hurt his spirit...
"Super cool but son...why did you bring it here?"
"It's my FORT! It's soooo cool! It must have blown away from a new house because
it was just kindof rollin' in the street."
"You can not keep this."
"WHAT! PLEEAAASSSEEE!"
"You had to have known I wouldn't have let you."
"It's so much fun,...It's so cool!"
"No darlin'. I'm sorry. You can't keep it. Trash day is tomorrow, it will go out then."
"Mom, PLEASE! It's my new fort" Voice now trailing because he knows
he has lost this battle.
"Not this time and not some strangers Refrigerators box."
He hoist the large box over top his head to carry it.
It looks like a walking box walking back to the garage.
He breaks it down....
A few hours later that box got feet again!
It was walking in the side yard!
At first the mother thinks....
Oh, what the neighbors might think or say NOW!
And then she remembers...it's not about them.
It's always about her family.
So, the walking refigerator box can walk around the yard until tomorrow.
As promised...
The dear son will have to wait yet other day to see what the mail lady
might bring.
His wise mother told him~
God has a great plan, Everything in His will!
If you have to learn a little patience then so be it.
If you never get it...then so be it.
In God's perfect will....BE DONE~
UNWIND:
Knowing that even an empty cardboard box brings joy
if you let joy come in.
I believe we tend to focus on the bad and forget to look at goodness
right in front of us. Look for goodness and you will surely find it.
JOY COMES FROM WITHIN!
JOY COMES FROM WITHIN!

I thought the same thing...for a second. Maybe if it was our own box...like it really matters, lol. Trash day being so close was too tempting:)
