What have I been up to...
Hey y'all!
I have a few things to chat about
BUT
First, Check out this "to go" dinner.
Grapes, oyster crackers, and the best homemade chicken noodle soup
I ever made! I was proud:)
OH, what's in my drink, you ask? Chia seeds.
They're super good for ya. I learned that from Grams~
Who's needs take out right!
My kids all prepared a similar box and we were off on our always busy Wednesday.
Last week my Levi turned 11!
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
He had fun with a few friends (big and small)
playing paintball.
Let me just tell you...You have to be sure to have tough skin to play:)
It's a fun yet tough game.
Unfortunately:( Momma couldn't play but Bekah and I had fun watching
the other come out of the field sweaty and in a bit of pain, kkk.
You have to be at least 10 yrs old to play.
Below is a bad picture. I made it burry on purpose because
there are other kids in it that are not mine.
The man you see pointing at the kids is Coach Cory.
He's great with them!
My kids really like him and as much as he tries to fight it
(I think so the other kids don't see)
he really likes them too.
Levi makes him laugh...Levi makes EVERYONE laugh!
Cory is good though.
He won't let the kids goof or get out of hand.
Last class someone was asking me about
another facility and if I'd looked into them.
I was honest.
I told them yes, and they were nice...they were indoors
where Extreme Speed wasn't...
BUT
they don't have Cory or Texas Tech guy (LOL)
That's what I call the other guy.
I told them that when I went I felt like I was being
"sold".
I don't like to feel that way.
I said I have nothing bad to say about them.
But I think when it comes down to it...
it's the nuts and bolts.
The training.
Not all the fancy~
So I continue to drive for the people...I guess...
I think people are worth more than fancy facilities.
School has started and I think we are all excited to
start this 2012 a little better than we started 2011 Fall.
I think we started a bit on the bumpy side.
Here Kainah has claimed this hallway desk as hers.
No one hardly uses this computer anymore because of the
MAC so she has dubbed it
"Kainah's Desk".
She has not yet earned her stripes to do school in her room just yet.
At least her main school.
She does very well here.
Vocab words! Sometimes they look like a foreign language which is why we
post the words to use them.
Trying to have the kids work them into their every day language.
Now here are the foreign parts:)
These are what Levi and Bekah are studying.
Greek roots this week.
You might notice something familiar about these Greek roots.
Below are the roots and to the
right the meaning and derivatives (if you can see in my pic).
Below is:
Little miss Bekah.
She starting cursive.
Not tooooo bad but still needs work.
Her main BIG problem in school...
everyone does everything for her.
I guess the life of being the baby of a family of 4.
This has ended and reality has set in.
Yesterday, she had to read a 27 page story to me.
She thought that to be way to much and wanted to cut it back.
Maybe to go play, maybe just because.
BUT
I said nope.
The story wasn't all that long, even though it was
27 pages long (GASP!)
About 5 pages in her sister came in to see if
she would drive the golf cart while she ran a mile.
Bekah begged and said can I just read a couple more and be done,
ppllleeaaasse!
I said, " How about this be a great motivation to
hurry up and finish your story."
Guess what?
You can guess right?
She did! She read fast too!
Stinker!
Her problem sometimes is getting that brain to focus.
Here's Levi practicing his cursive. I was very impressed!
I had been not so impressed a few months ago
so had told Todd that after Christmas
Levi was going to have to work hard on his cursive.
I think he just goes too fast...because he can make it look
very nice when he slows down a bit.
Notice anything?
If you know my son you know that he LOVES football!
There's your hint.
Yep, the football on his lap~
Whatever will he do when he has to go to school without
his close leathery friend :)
Hannah and I going over schedules and test...
She had just completed her online test and did great!
She has become so independent and yet not in a rebellious way.
Independent and yet wants to listens and
respects authority...which is true maturity!
So, What have I been up to.
Ahhh....nothing, HA!
Just sitting on the couch eating bonbons.
I've been up to a lot!
A I've been unable to do a lot of what I need to do.
Along with my busy life I'm working through some stuff in my brain and my heart.
I've got God working and carrying me through...
so those that love me don't worry!
I've found out some more information about something I already knew
that has got me a bit...
Well, let just say I'm not gonna let it get me.
Focusing on Jesus~
Asking for help on forgiveness...
Sometimes it's easier and sometimes it's not so easy, especially when it has to
do not with you but with someone you cherish...someone you love..
someone that is a part of you...
someone that you take care of...
Someone that is innocent and defenseless :(
That's when I need Jesus to really help me.
And He will.
He wants that for me.
He knows I have sadness, hurt, confusion, and anger.
He knows I'm human.
He knows also the heart He gave me.
He gave me a heart for Him.
I may not be a theologian (I'm not even sure if I spelled that right, lol)
I'm not the best speller, teacher, nurse, driver, mechanic, plumber, singer, speaker...
The list can go on and on...
I'm not the best at a lot...
I am able!
I am able to do all things through Christ.
So, I've been all those things and I have been able to do them well.
Not the best but well enough.
But the best quality I have is My heart.
and when my heart is a little broke I know God wants to fix it because that's
my best part of me :)
Even if people confuse me for something I'm not...that is
one thing I stand on.
So, if you are reading today...I could use a prayer my way.
I'll be fine and am fine.
I'm so blessed to have a wonderful friend and husband to be there
to tell me that everything will be ok.
That the person we love will be just fine...And not to fret.
I know this is true.
God has everything worked out for His great purpose.
Thank you Lord for trusting that I maybe stronger still.
UNWIND:
I need to unwind in my Heavenly father today. I need to listen my own words.
I truly don't understand the actions of some in this world.
Truly I can't comprehend.
Comments
bon Bons...you, my friend, are the last person in the world to sit and eat bon bons!! That made me laugh.
