Crazy Math!

I was jumping around some blogs getting ideas
for school when something crazy hit me!

It was CRAZY MATH!

It will not make since to you, I'm sure.

You have to live inside this weird brain to understand.

Here it is.

No- Not some new wonderful way to teach math...sorry to get those hopes up!

I realized that next year I will have

2 + .5 + .5 Students to teach!

Now this looks like a simple equation but not really:)
I wouldn't = that 3

I DO have 4 school aged children that I DO home school.

BUT here's the kicker.

Once they reach High school they become EXTREMELY independent!

Yes, they need help and one on one time but they move into a very different role.

EXAMPLE:
Hannah, as a Sophomore, has learned and is still learning time management.
A very important tool needed in College.
She is enrolled in a High School that she completes exams online (distant learning).
She reads, studies, and is tested over the material.
She also is enrolled in 2 college courses.
(Got a 100% on her first Eng. assignment...sorry proud momma talk)
She has a Science Lab class through a Co-op.
With this course she reads, studies, and test at home.
She meets with her class once a week to go over the Chapter and do labs.
Math and Spanish are her other courses.  They are Computer based.
She is very motivated to be an independent student!

With that said.

I see that I will have the time to so some of the things
I've been wanting to do with the two smaller kidos.

I will have 2 HS students that will need help but not as much.

I will get to see my oldest two girls grow more independent.

And I guess, most heavy on my heart...

I will get to work with Rebekah longer and have to time to be creative.
I will be able to mold my day to suit her as I did for her older siblings.

For Levi, He is still in my pot....Stewing.
He is brimming to the edge.
Some days he does so great independently and others...not so much.
He is only a 5th grader..
All though his math looks like this.

Might be hard to read because I dont' have all the signs on my computer.
This is actually an easy one if you think about it:)
10+2(to the 3rd power)X3-(7+2) \(the square root of 9)

He goes back and forth on independence and wanting me there.

Excited, can describe my outlook!

I know that some days it feels like I only have 1 student as the older kids
go about their business.

Other days I feel like I have 100 students,
all having a project that need to be researched RIGHT THEN.
Those days are the days that I usually feel like those students have 101
extracurricular activities:)

UNWIND:
Knowing that God has Great adventures for you everyday!
SO LOOK OUT FOR THEM AND ENJOY THE RIDE:)

Oh good gracious...how did high school creep up so fast?!?! Scares the beegeebers out of me for sure. Monkey is already talking about next year "when I do 5th grade", and I want to make she STOP! How did we get past the primary grades? I am gonna blink and college is going to happen. I know it.
