TEEN CHRISTMAS PARTY

Have you ever had 70-ish teens over at your house plus a handful of parents?

Is your first reaction with a cringe or with a smile and bring it on?

I LOVE IT!

~Some think I'm crazy~

Our house, is not OUR house...It's Gods house:)

I know most would crunch their nose up at me a say I was
crazy because everyone knows
that church is Gods house.

Right?

To me, everything I have, I have because of Him.

My car, my shirt, my shoes, my food...I want to thank Him not only for the food I eat

but for the gas I put in the car which I also consume...

just differently.

Praise Him for the internet I have so I can

"air" my thoughts and communicate to friends far away.

Thank Him for my phone, my couch, my bed, my warm blanket....

Thank Him for this home...SO, you see, this home IS Gods house.

He has blessed us with it to use.

A week before the party the weather man said it was to be cold

and we still had a burn ban on since we have had the worst drought in

history here in Texas.

SO...unless I could figure something out no bonfire to stay warm.

These are Texas kids...60* is almost too cold:)

So, I bring on the prayers.

Then I hear that it might

RAIN

and what do I do Pray and make rain plans.

I am pretty laid back. I can handle this...maybe the party might need to be shorten

from 4 hours to 3 or so but it will be fine...

God's got this!

The morning of the party we drive to Co-op class in sprinkles and semi-warm.

I think...it's fine.

The afternoon came, the rains came, and the burn ban is off!

I tell God I have faith:)

I put big spot lights up in the rain.

My Hannah says, "Mom! It's raining...everything is wet.:( It's not going to be able to work outside."

I tell her, "It will be fine. The sand will be wet.  The deck will be wet. But it will be fine. You'll see"

I checked my weather App on my phone and it showed that the rain

was suppose to stop around 4.

Do you know it stopped right at 3:15?

I said it was God's way of making sure our bon fire didn't become a wild fire.

While we were outside at 5 the wind blew and

someone felt drops and said "oh no..It's raining again."

I said, "nope, just the water from the tree leaves.  God's got this people!"

HE did!

The night was beautiful! Not even cold.

Cool enough for the fire not make you hot but not cold that you're having

to stand by a fire.

The only thing was the wet stand.

The nice thing is that I have tile all over where the wet sand was...

so it was just a matter

of me sweeping it up and then steaming it

247,000 times to get my floors clean.

Such a small price to pay for such a fun evening!

I'd do it again in a heart beat!

Some things the kids did:  Hang out/ charades around the bon fire, capture the Santa Hat, Sand

Volleyball, Basketball, Cha Cha Slide, Eat:)

UNWIND:
Unwind in knowing Gods got your back! So rest in Him.
