Experts and bikini's
Experts...They're nice to have around to teach us things.
They show us new perspectives on old ideas.
As with most things, moderation is the key....
Knowing how and if it applies to you and your life is vital.
Recently, I watched a video on modest dressing.
Specifically, one on if Christians should wear bikini's.
The speaker had great intentions which I applaud.
Intentions on helping females find "good" soul mates.
I listened to him read off all the information found from the
"experts" and their "test".
What happens to boys/mens brains when they see women in bikinis.
About the origin of the bikini.
I, not uncommonly, started to form my own opinion.
I am not one that goes solely on an "expert's" advice or facts.
I take all into account and place all into my heart.
My decisions are based on my God, character, common sense.
I can tell you about the dreaded bikini vs the full piece.
I can tell you that you don't want to see me in a full piece.
Why?
I am very longed bodied. Even the bathing suits tailored for
long bodies (few and ugly, btw) don't fit right.
So, me in a full piece is either unsightly because the top is hanging down,
and the bottom is coming way-way up (ouch!)
OR
I get one that fits in length and all my blessed areas fall out!
EEK~not a pretty picture either.
NOTE: my girls have acquired my long body.
I choose a tankini.
It's just better for everyone involved:)
And our girls...
They choose different things different times.
They like board shorts and a bikini top.
NOT STRING bikini btw.
If they didn't choose board shorts I wouldn't choose this as a knock
down drag out battle to choose.
Because I have God minded girls, they choose bathing suits that cover just fine.
I would battle with something that hardly covered.
Here's the thing....
1st- Ask yourself, are you carrying yourself the way you feel is honorable?
*Someone in a full piece bathing suit and a cover up could be overly flirtatious...
throwing themselves on a guy almost...carrying herself in a dishonorable way
only to point her finger at the sweet girl in a bikini and say,
"Oh my, look at her!"
*Someone in a bikini having a good wholesome time.
She carries herself with poise and when done swimming she covers up
as she doesn't walk around the area in her suit.
She welcomes all..not one to snub anyone
and smiles at anyone that comes her way.
~~I choose heart over outward appearance...any day of the week!
Not sure when people...
Christian people stopped looking into the heart.
I guess it's been there since Jesus.
You would think that we all would have learned by now.
I know.
I know.
I get sick of these girls with bootie cutters...and their junk hanging out.
BUT
When someone put it out there..."If Christians should wear bikinis?"
It's a BIG spectrum.
My girls are in that spectrum...I'm in that spectrum.
There is a need for a
'NO full piece bathing suit, please' sign
in my bathroom.
I guess it's not that big of a deal for us because we have a private pool.
We don't swim publicly very often and...here's the kicker~
We've trained our kids!!!
TRAIN UP A CHILD-
Remember this verse?
We train them on Godly tools, on worldly lies, and we train them on
what to do in an emergency situation.
Live your life full!
AND
train well~
UNWIND:
Knowing that experts...are going off of what they've been told too!
Think about it.
Pray about it.
Don't always change because of an expert.
Sometimes they have great things to say and
sometimes...just things to say~
Believe in what God puts in your heart!
